Dr. Hastings is passionate about doing everything he can to help his patients enjoy the best health possible. Mental and emotional health has been of great concern to him, especially since the challenges of the Covid pandemic. He is constantly looking for resources, and is pleased to announce that we now proudly offer neurofeedback sessions. Neurofeedback is a non-invasive and safe procedure that according to research, found improvements in the treatment of brain disorders such as ADHD, anxiety, ASD, depression, drug addiction, dyslexia, dyscalculia, epilepsy, insomnia, learning disabilities, and schizophrenia (MAURO & CERMAK, 2006). Other conditions that have shown improvement with neurofeedback include cognitive decline that comes with aging, stress, headaches, problem behaviors, trauma, performance anxiety, and lack of focus for professionals, musicians, athletes, and students. Based on 50 years of scientific development, neurofeedback trains the brain to self-correct when faced with instability. Electrodes are placed on the head and ears that measure brain activity while listening to and watching auditory and visual input. Based on the feedback, interruptions to the visual and auditory experience train the brain to self-regulate and function more efficiently, just like with physical exercise. Positive results are typically seen within 20-30 sessions of NeurOptimal brain training.
